Lake Area Adventures started with a vision: to create something the Lake Charles community could truly be proud of. Co-founder and general manager Tim Robles, a military veteran, drew inspiration from his love for the area and his experiences with outdoor activities and community involvement. From humble beginnings with kayak and pontoon rentals, the idea evolved into an all-encompassing family adventure facility, offering something unique for every visitor.
The project faced several challenges, including transforming a former lumber yard into a state-of-the-art entertainment center within an ambitious timeline of less than six months. Additionally, the team worked to balance affordability for families while providing high-quality attractions and services, a critical factor in ensuring long-term success in a competitive market.

The Lake Area Adventures team, led by Robles and his partners, approached the project with determination and creativity. Guided by their “BTS” (Burn the Ships) philosophy, they committed fully to the venture, overcoming obstacles with innovative solutions. The facility’s design integrates diverse attractions, including a massive Galaxy Inflatable Park, swimming pool, rock climbing wall, and more, all centered around inspiring a sense of adventure and appreciation for Lake Charles’ natural assets.
A standout feature is the full-service restaurant, The Terrace, led by award-winning Chef Amanda Cusey. The restaurant elevates the facility’s appeal by offering a menu that rivals local dining establishments, ensuring a premium experience for parents while their children explore the attractions.
